“…Do not cease to cry out to the LORD our God for us, that He may save us from the hand of the Philistines.”

1 Samuel 7:8 ESV

The Israelites were surrounded by a powerful foe, who had defeated them so many times in the past. From their experience they realised that their own strength was insufficient for victory. They turn to Samuel, the devoted prophet of God to lead them in a prayer for deliverance.

In this world, we are all faced with troubles of various kinds. We struggle with weaknesses on the inside and trials on the outside. We are encouraged to confess our sins to one another and to pray for one another, so that we may experience God’s divine intervention. For the selfless prayers of the righteous person, prayed on behalf of others can accomplish much. So, always pray and do not lose heart, upholding one another with prayers of praise, confession, thanksgiving and supplication, so that together we may see the saving power of God and glorify His name.
